Different education institutions name or group students differently. academic structuring enables any type of education institution to group students according to individual needs.
What is a Department?
A Department can be the top level grouping of an institution which is responsible for the different Classes, Sections and Subjects.
Ex: Department of Business and Commerce
Department of Medical Sciences
What is a Class?
A Class in can be associated with a variety of related meanings depending on the type of education institution. It can be the group of students attending a specific course or lesson at a university, school, or other small academy institution.
Depending on education institution a class can be set-up in different ways.
Eg:
In a school or K-12: Class can be :
Class: Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and so on.
In a university: Class can be:
Class: Dept of Computer Science, Dept of Electronics, Dept of Astronomy, MBA-Finance & IT and so on.
In a tutoring academy: Class can be:
Class: English 101, Science 101, Advanced English
What is Section?
A Section can be a group within a Class. Again it may depend on the type of education institution and how the individual education institution group their students within a Class.

In School or K-12: Section and Class may look as below:
Class: Grade 1
Section: Division 1, Division 2.
Class: Grade 2
Sections: Division 1, Division 2.

Class: Dept of Computer Science,
